His estate was probated on 11 Sep 1741 at Somerset Co, Maryland.
      Samuel Melson received livestock by deed of gift on 18 Sep 1694 in Accomack Co, VA: ... I Robert Atkins of Accomack County in Virginia ... unto my Loveing Godson Samuel Mellson son of John Mellson formerly of ye aforesd County ... give and grant unto ye sd Samuell Mellson and his heirs for Ever one black pyed crumpled horn Cow end her Calfe ... untill ye sd Samuel shall attain to ye age of Twenty one years ... and after that age both male and female to run and be the sd Samuel Melson his and his heirs for Ever and if ye sd Samuel shell happen to die without issue then ye sd Cow and Calfe and encrease to be the youngest Sister of the sd Samuel Melson and her heirs for Ever In Witness whereof I have set my hand & seele this 18 Septembr 1694. In 1699 James Taylor senior of Accomack Co and his wife deeded 75 acres each to daughters Margaret Taylor and Elizabeth and her husband Thomas Wilkinson. In 1719 Samuel and Margaret (Taylor) Melson sold their 75 acres at tract A170, south of New Church, Accomack Co, VA to Thomas Wilkinson. So Thomas Wilkinson thus became the owner of both parts. In 1733 Thomas Wilkinson, son-and-heir of Thomas, and his mother deeded 50 acres to Joseph and Elizabeth Miers, which had been left to them by the will of Thomas senior but in 1741 the Miers deeded the 50 acres back to Thomas and the deed also was signed by Joseph Melson as heir-at-law of Samuel and Margaret Melson.

On 13 Jul 1721 Samuel bought 250 aces of "Partners Choice" in Somerset Co, MD from William A. Robinson. According to Alfred V. Melson the 250 acres was located on the east side of the Chesapeake Bay, the south side of Nanticoke River and on the north side of Barren Creek (Somerset Co, MD Deed Book O-14, p. 179.)

Samuel made a will on 23 Jun 1730 in Somerset Co, MD: To wife Isbel, 1/3 of dwelling plantation, Partners Choice. To sons Joseph and Benjamin, Poplar Ridge. To son Samuel, Partners Choice. To daughter Ann, Poplar Ridge. To granddaughter Esabel, daughter of Benjamin, personalty. Witnesses: William Brown, Susanna Brown nd John Carmichael. Samuel's inventory was recorded on 18 Apr 1740 in Somerset Co, MD when Isbell Melson filed the inventory. Shown as next of kin were Joseph Melson and Samuel Melson. Samuel's estate was settled on 11 Sep 1741 in Somerset Co, MD when Isable Cooper, wife of Isaac Cooper submitted the administrative account. Legatees: Anne Melson, daughter; Samuel Melson, son; widow, unnamed; Isbell Melson, minor granddaughter. Distribution was made to widow, son Samuel Melson; son Benjamin Melson; son Joseph; Anne Parremore, wife of Ezekll Parremore; and Isbell Melson, minor granddaughter.

Joshua bought part of tract A100, south of Parksley, Accomack Co, VA in 1672 from William Abraham and his wife Mary.

Joshua made a will on 9 Jul 1683 in Accomack Co, VA: To sons John and Joshua my 200-acre plantation to be divided between them. To daughter Mary. Children under 18. Wife Margaret executor. Witnesses: John Drummond, Timothy Coe, Wonie Mackannie. Both sons later died and Mary inherited the land.

      In 1696 James Ewell bought 250 acres of Whitelaw's tract A109, which is south of Guilford and west of Parksley on the south fork of Muddy Creek, from John West. In 1697 James bought 300 acres from William and Dorothy Jarman who later moved to Somerset Co, MD.

James made a will on 7 Aug 1703 in Accomack Co, VA: To son Mark. To wife Anne all my land & plantation. Daughter Patience Ewell. Daughter Ann Ewell. Son Solomon. Daughter Comfort Tatham. Grandaughter Jane Tatham. Grandau Tabyther Tatham. Son Charles. Son George. Son Mark executor. Witnesses: John Drummond, Robert Norton, William Willet, Sarah Ryley. According to the noted author Whitelaw, son Mark received the 300 acres with the home, which James had purchased from the Jarmans and which had been the site of the Jarman home. Son Solomon received the 250 acres which James had purchased from John West. This Solomon may have been the Colonel Solomon Ewell who became such a large landowner and prominent man in the upper part of the Accomack Co.

The Melson Family in Amerca notes Margaret was the daughter of William and Mary Abraham, but the data is not sources. No records to prove Margaret's parents have yet been found in 2015.
