     Elizabeth Shell was born c 1818. She was the daughter of William L. Shell and Nancy Wilkins. Elizabeth Shell married Robert E. Lacy c 1838. Elizabeth Shell died b 1850.

     Robert E. Lacy was born c 1804. He married Elizabeth Shell, daughter of William L. Shell and Nancy Wilkins, c 1838. Robert E. Lacy married Ann E. (Unknown) c 1849.

      Robert E. Lacy, who was noted as married to Ann in the 1850 Charles City Co, VA census, is postulated to be the same Mr. Lacy who married Elizabeth Shell, the daughter of William L. and Nancy Shell because Elizabeth left behind four children by the same names as those noted in the 1850 census in the Lacy household. Also living in the household with Robert in 1850 was a Mildred Lacy age 17 who could be Robert's sister and a Susan Shell age 65 who could be his father-in-law William L. Shell's sister.

      Susan Shell is estimated to be the sister of William L. Shell. A Susan Shell was living in 1850 in Charles City Co with Robert Lacy, likely the Mr. Lacy who was the son-in-law of William L. Shell. William's daughter Elizabeth had apparently died and Robert Lacy had then married Ann.
