      Charles McElhaney age 26 a farmer born in TN was living with his wife Margaret and family in Bowen, Madision Co, AR in 1850.

     Wiley McElhaney was born a 1833. He was the son of William McElhaney I and Elizabeth Ledbetter.

     Henry McElhaney was born a 1828. He was the son of William McElhaney I and Elizabeth Ledbetter.

     William McElhaney II was born a 1822. He was the son of William McElhaney I and Elizabeth Ledbetter.

     Sarah McElhaney was born a 1815. She was the daughter of William McElhaney I and Elizabeth Ledbetter.

     Lydia McElhaney was born a 1813. She was the daughter of William McElhaney I and Elizabeth Ledbetter.

     Amanda McElhaney was born a 1820. She was the daughter of William McElhaney I and Elizabeth Ledbetter.

     Polly McElhaney was born a 1826. She was the daughter of William McElhaney I and Elizabeth Ledbetter.

     William B. Bowen was born in 1796 at Tennessee. He was the son of Henry Bowen and Mary Anna Counts. William B. Bowen married (1st wife of Wm B. Bowen) (Unknown) a 1815. William B. Bowen married Levica "Vicey" McElhaney, daughter of John McElhaney and Margaret Hannah Bowen, c 1829. William B. Bowen died c 1870.

      William B. Bowen was enumerated in the 1830 White Co, TN census with a total of six living at home. On the same census are McElhaney families: James with 3 at home; Henry with 7; and Andrew with 7.

William may have been the moving force behind the migration of the Bowen, McElhaney and Counts family members from Tennessee to Arkansas because most participants in the circa 1831 wagon train trip were related to William or to his wife Levica McElhaney.

William is on the 1850 Bowen, Madison Co, AR census with his wife Levisa age 50 and Mahala Bowen age 17 who was born in Arkansas. Mahala would have been born about 1833, the same year William and Levisa's daughter Elizabeth was born, so there is a possibility Mahala is a daughter, granddaugher or niece from the extended family. William was listed as a farmer with real estate valued at 1500.

     Martha Bowen was born in 1830 at Tennessee. She was the daughter of William B. Bowen and Levica "Vicey" McElhaney. Martha Bowen died in 1903.

     Emiline Cox was born in 1830 at Tennessee.¹ She married Arthur McElhaney, son of William McElhaney I and Elizabeth Ledbetter, a 1850.¹

     Solomon Adams was born in 1799. He married Levica "Vicey" McElhaney, daughter of John McElhaney and Margaret Hannah Bowen, c 1818. Solomon Adams died b 1830.

     Margaret Adams was born in 1819 at Tennessee. She was the daughter of Solomon Adams and Levica "Vicey" McElhaney. Margaret Adams died in 1911.

     Sarah E. Adams was born on 19 Jun 1820 at Kentucky. She was the daughter of Solomon Adams and Levica "Vicey" McElhaney. Sarah E. Adams died on 4 Aug 1873 at Greene Co, Missouri, at age 53.

     Mary "Polly" N. Adams was born on 17 Feb 1823 at Tennessee. She was the daughter of Solomon Adams and Levica "Vicey" McElhaney. Mary "Polly" N. Adams died on 20 Apr 1898 at Aurora, Madison Co, Arkansas, at age 75.

     Sally Adams was born in 1824 at Tennessee. She was the daughter of Solomon Adams and Levica "Vicey" McElhaney. Sally Adams died on 4 Aug 1874 at Greene Co, Missouri.

     Sarah Adams was born in 1825 at Kentucky. She was the daughter of Solomon Adams and Levica "Vicey" McElhaney. Sarah Adams died in 1874.

      Sarah Adams was noted as dying in either Madison Co, AR or Greene Co, MO.

     Elizabeth "Betty" Bowen was born on 10 Jun 1833 at Bowen, Madison Co, Arkansas. She was the daughter of William B. Bowen and Levica "Vicey" McElhaney. Elizabeth "Betty" Bowen died on 26 Oct 1910 at Bowen, Madison Co, Arkansas, at age 77.

     Nicholas Bowen was born c 1804 at Tennessee. He was the son of Henry Bowen and Mary Anna Counts. Nicholas Bowen married Rebecca (Unknown) a 1824.

      Nicholas Bowen was enumerated on the 1850 Bowen, Madison Co, AR census with his wife Rebecca and their family; he was a farmer whose real estate was valued at 150. Nicholas, his wife Rebecca and oldest son Henry were noted as being illiterate. He and his family came to Arkansas on a wagon train about 1831, so most of his children were likely born in Arkansas although all were enumerated as born in Tennessee.

     Rebecca (Unknown) was born c 1814 at Tennessee. She married Nicholas Bowen, son of Henry Bowen and Mary Anna Counts, a 1824.
