Dudley Nathaniel Dukes married Tempie Susan Johnson, daughter of Joseph Johnson and Temperance Fitts, on 5 Nov 1901 at Clarke Co, Alabama. Dudley Nathaniel Dukes married Amelia Elizabeth Johnson, daughter of Joseph Johnson and Temperance Fitts, in 1903. Dudley Nathaniel Dukes died on 23 May 1943 at Bon Secour, Baldwin Co, Alabama, at age 67.

Tempie Susan Johnson married Dudley Nathaniel Dukes, son of Richard Alexander Dukes and Mary Elizabeth Chastain, on 5 Nov 1901 at Clarke Co, Alabama. Tempie Susan Johnson died on 12 Oct 1902 at Clarke Co, Alabama, at age 18.

     James "Jim" Eulyce Dukes is the son of Eulyce S. Dukes and Kathryn Orlene Browning.

      By 1880 James O. Dukes was living in Henderson, Rusk Co, TX, boarding with and working for G. E. Palmer, a farmer age 24 who was born in South Carolina. James spent the remainder of his life in Rusk Co. Throughout his life he used the name James O. Dukes. His find-a-grave website is the only source of the middle name Osburne; thus his middle name could have actually been Osmon after his grandfather.

     Joachim "Joseph" Abram Wesley Dukes was born on 14 Aug 1865 at Alabama. He was the son of John James Dukes and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Mary White. Joachim "Joseph" Abram Wesley Dukes died on 20 May 1932 at Cherokee Co, Texas, at age 66.

      Joseph was enumerated as Joseph Dukes in 1870 and Joachim Dukes in 1880. Living with his wife Alice, he was listed as Joseph W. Dukes in Rusk Co, TX in 1900. By 1910 Joseph began using the name James and was enumerated as James W. Dukes in Rusk Co in 1910 and in Cherokee Co, TX in 1920. In 1930 he was enumerated as Joe E. Dukes in Cherokee Co, TX.

     John W. Dukes was born on 9 Jan 1863 at Alabama. He was the son of John James Dukes and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Mary White. John W. Dukes died on 3 Oct 1927 at Rusk Co, Texas, at age 64.

      John Dukes, son of John James Dukes, was noted on the 1880 census as John W. Dukes in Rusk Co, TX and was noted as John Dukes on the 1900, 1910 and 1920 censuses in that county and on his tombstone. Although his grandson knew of him as John James Dukes, there is no indication John used that name on any official records; his find-a-grave website is the only place with the middle name James.

     Daniel George Washington Dukes was born on 17 Aug 1871 at Mobile Co, Alabama. He was the son of John James Dukes and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Mary White. Daniel George Washington Dukes died on 2 Dec 1940 at Rusk Co, Texas, at age 69.

      Daniel George Washington Dukes was enumerated with his wife Arnia Duncan on the 1900 Cherokee Co, TX census as Darmel W. Dukes. By 1910 he was widowed and was noted as Doc/k Duke/s on the 1910 - 1930 Rusk Co, TX censuses respectively. By 1940 he was back in Cherokee Co and used the name Daniel G. W. Dukes on that year's census.

     Sally Jordan was born in 1785 at Oglethorpe Co, Georgia. She married Hardeman Duke, son of Thomas Duke I and Elizabeth "Eliza / Betsy" (Unknown), on 28 Mar 1805 at Oglethorpe Co, Georgia. Sally Jordan died in 1828 at Clarke Co, Alabama.

     Lucinda Henley was born on 4 Apr 1820 at Conecuh Co, Alabama. She married William M. Duke, son of Hardeman Duke and Sally Jordan, on 3 Jan 1843 at Clarke Co, Alabama. Lucinda Henley died on 4 Mar 1884 at Clarke Co, Alabama, at age 63.

     William Thomas Duke was born on 5 Feb 1844 at Clarke Co, Alabama. He was the son of William M. Duke and Lucinda Henley. William Thomas Duke married Teresa Arminta Maria Gates, daughter of William Lewis Gates and Sarah Gladis Bradford, on 21 Mar 1867 at Clarke Co, Alabama. William Thomas Duke died on 31 Aug 1899 at Tuscaloosa, Alabama, at age 55.

      William Thomas Duke served in the 38th Alabama Infantry Regiment with his first cousin William James Thomas.

William was enumerated as W. Thomas Duke age 34 in the 1880 Gates, Clarke Co, AL census. He as residing next door to his brother John Alexander Duke.

William died in a Tuscaloosa hospital where the family had placed him. Family tradition was he was kicked in the head by a mule resulting in a mental incapacity. Records at the Brice Hospital stated on arrival William was unable to dress himself, and after a short time he could no longer feed himself. After about three months he died and was buried in Tuscaloosa, AL.

     Teresa Arminta Maria Gates was born on 11 May 1846 at Alabama. She was the daughter of William Lewis Gates and Sarah Gladis Bradford. Teresa Arminta Maria Gates married William Thomas Duke, son of William M. Duke and Lucinda Henley, on 21 Mar 1867 at Clarke Co, Alabama. Teresa Arminta Maria Gates died in 1925.

      Teresa was also noted as Terreca Asamintia "Amenty" Mariah Gates, Minty, Metty and Minnie. On her daughter Sarah Elmira's death certificate she was listed as Metty Gates.

In the 1900 Cane Creek, Clarke Co, AL census she was enumerated as the widowed Maria Duke living with her children and next door to her son John Levi Duke. By 1920 she was listed as Minnie Duke residing in her daughter Gladys' household at Bells Landing, Monroe Co, AL.
